چکیده

The aim of this study was to determine the antibiotic resistance E. rhusiopathiae when isolated from clinical outbreaks erysipelas in geese antimicrobials commonly used poultry production. All isolates were susceptible amoxicillin alone or with clavulanic acid, MIC values ranging 0.016 0.125 μg/mL. Ninety-six percent fully sensitive penicillin G (MIC 0.125–0.5 μg/mL). moderately erythromycin Most proved resistant fluoroquinolones (76.6% enrofloxacin, 0.064 32 μg/mL, and 68% norfloxacin, 0.094 96 μg/mL), tetracyclines (61.7% doxycycline, 0.25 64 63.8% tetracycline, 0.38 256 Point mutations gyrA gene (responsible for fluoroquinolone resistance) presence tetM tetracycline noted most isolates. Multidrug resistance, defined as at least one substance three more antimicrobial classes, not observed.

Characterization of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae strains isolated from acute swine erysipelas outbreaks in Eastern China

Recently, a series of acute swine erysipelas outbreaks occurred in Eastern China. Eight strains isolated from cases of septicemia were determined as serotype 1a, and 4 of the isolates were resistant to acriflavine. One isolate strain named HX130709 was attenuated on agar media containing acriflavine dye. The 432-bp hypervariable region in spaA gene of the field and attenuated strains were ampli...

Pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic relationships of antimicrobial drugs used in veterinary medicine.

The rise in incidence of antimicrobial resistance, consumer demands and improved understanding of antimicrobial action has encouraged international agencies to review the use of antimicrobial drugs. More detailed understanding of relationships between the pharmacokinetics (PK) of antimicrobial drugs in target animal species and their action on target pathogens [pharmacodynamics (PD)] has led to...
